Andy Murray le puso fin a la serie de éxitos consecutivos de David Nalbandian. El escocés número 4 del planeta tenis, le ganó por primera vez en su carrera al cordobés por un doble 6-2 y se clasificó a la semifinal, instancia en la que espera por Nadal o Kohlschreiber.
El partido lo manejó Murray a su merced, duró poco más de una hora y aunque se sabía que en algún momento, el actual 45 del mundo tenía que perder, la ilusión crecía jornada tras jornada. Probablemente el cansancio fue un factor determinante que perjudicó el rendimiento que venía demostrando dentro de la cancha. Recordemos que viene jugando de manera ininterrumpida desde el 1º de agosto cuando por la primera ronda de Washington derrotó a Rajeev Ram. David y su cuerpo técnico estarán seguramente satisfechos por el retorno a la competencia fuerte, ahora resta confirmar su presencia en Cincinnati o si descansa y entrena pensando en el Us Open, que comienza el 30 de este mes.

The match was dominated entirely by Murray, it lasted a little more than an hour. It was known that the current 45 of the world had to lose sometime, but the illusion of seeing him in the final grew day after day. The tiredness was maybe de main factor of his low performance.
